"Facets"
In this practice, the process of beading is similar to practicing a language, weaving meaningful concepts from tiny, gathered pieces. The end result forms a flexible and foldable visual statement resonating with contemporary aesthetics and speaks in a jewellery-like manner. The inspiration for the "Ring of Facets" pendant stems from an old portrait photo transformed into pixelated color blocks. In an era where 10 photos can be snapped in 1 second, in deliberate contrast, slow beading reconstructs a single image. This slow, manual process holds significance, preserving cherished moments while honoring the art of manual work.
